      Starting from (4R)-hydroxy-L-proline, a polymer-supported proline derivative has been prepared and conducted as a catalyst in the direct asymmetric aldol addition of acetone to o- and p- nitrobenzaldehyde. The desired aldol adducts were obtained in good yields with ee's up to 80%, and the catalyst can be reused for at least three times.
