| Benzyl ethers were prepared in good yields via the reaction of O-benzyl isourea with alcohols or phenols in the presence of BF3•Et2O. The mild reaction conditions and the availability of the reagent for the reaction provide an alternative method for the protection of hydroxyl group in alcohol and phenol in organic synthesis.
